Method and system for multiple display device projection

A computing device comprises:

• memory;
• an interface;
• and
• a processing module operably coupled to the memory and the interface, wherein the processing module is operable to:
• obtain a visual file for display;
• determine to display the visual file in an expanded manner;
• determine a number of monitors associated with the computing device;
• determine a display window space that extends beyond at least one of a height and a width of a display area of at least one monitor of the number of monitors;
• determine a first display region of the display window space attributed to the number of monitors within;
• determine a second display region of the display window space that is outside of the first display region;
• determining whether to use holographic projectors associated with the at least one monitor of the number of monitors or a proximal surface to establish the second display region;
• when using the holographic projectors to establish the second display region:
• determining a canvas projection range of the holographic projectors, wherein the canvas projection range is utilized to determine a holographic canvas size for establishing the second display region;
• determining size of the display area of the at least one monitor of the number of monitors;
• and
• determining the display window space based on the holographic canvas size and the size of the display area of the at least one monitor of the number of monitors;
• map a first portion of the visual file to the first display region to produce a first visual mapping;
• map a second portion of the visual file to the second display region to produce a second visual mapping;
• and
• render at least a portion of the visual file on to the display window space in accordance with the first and second visual mappings.
