Control apparatus

A control device for controlling an operation of at least one electric device, the control device comprising:

• a user interface configured to receive an operation command for the at least one electric device, the user interface having a home screen;
• at least one processor configured to:
• when an event has occurred while the at least one electric device operates, control a pop-up window to indicate the event on the home screen, and
• when the pop-up window is selected, control the user interface to display a chatting screen for performing a conversation between a user and the at least one electric device;
• and
• a storage configured to store a plurality of commands, for controlling the at least one electric device,
• wherein the chatting screen includes:
• a conversation display window for displaying an icon associated with the event and the conversation,
• a conversation input window for receiving a user input by the user,
• a keypad for entering characters into the conversation input window, and
• a list button, and
• wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:
• when the list button is selected by the user, control the user interface to switch from displaying the keypad to displaying a plurality of shortcut buttons on the chatting screen while maintaining display of the conversation display window and the conversation input window, and
• when one of the plurality of shortcut buttons is selected by the user, control the at least one electric device based on a command of the plurality of commands.
