Abstract
An opaque cover is provided for a capacitive sensor. The cover includes a transparent substrate, and at least one white coating layer including white pigments disposed over at least one portion of the transparent substrate. The cover also includes a non-conductive mirror structure disposed over the at least one white coating layer. The non-conductive mirror structure includes a number of first dielectric layers having a first refractive index interleaved with second dielectric layers having a second refractive index. The first and second dielectric layers have dielectric constants below a threshold.

An electronic device, comprising:
- a transparent layer having an inner surface;
- a white coating on the inner surface;
- a capacitive sensor behind the transparent layer, wherein the white coating completely covers the capacitive sensor;
- and
- a mirror structure interposed between the white coating and the capacitive sensor, wherein the mirror structure reflects light towards the white coating and away from the capacitive sensor.
An electronic device, comprising:
- a capacitive sensor;
- a transparent cover layer that covers the capacitive sensor;
- a white coating layer interposed between the capacitive sensor and the transparent cover layer, wherein the white coating layer completely overlaps the capacitive sensor;
- and
- a mirror structure comprising a light-absorbing stack interposed between the white coating layer and the capacitive sensor, wherein the mirror structure reflects light towards the white coating layer and away from the capacitive sensor.
An electronic device, comprising:
- a capacitive sensor;
- a transparent layer that covers the capacitive sensor;
- a white ink layer that covers the capacitive sensor;
- and
- a mirror structure interposed between the capacitive sensor and the transparent layer wherein the mirror structure reflects light towards the white ink layer and away from the capacitive sensor.
