Methods and apparatus for providing peripheral sub-system stability

A computerized apparatus, comprising:

• a host processing apparatus comprising a root complex;
• a peripheral apparatus comprising an endpoint apparatus, the endpoint apparatus comprising a plurality of functions, each of the plurality of functions being coupled with a respective sub-system of a plurality of sub-systems;
• and
• a communication link between the root complex and the endpoint apparatus;
• wherein the host processing apparatus is configured to sequentially boot each of the plurality of sub-systems.

A host processing apparatus for use in an electronic device, the host processing apparatus comprising:

• logic configured to, when operated:
• establish a memory mapped interface to an endpoint associated with a peripheral apparatus, the endpoint being operatively coupled to each of a plurality of sub-systems associated with the electronic device;
• enumerate the plurality of sub-systems;
• and
• sequentially boot at least two of the enumerated plurality of sub-systems.
