Abstract
Methods, systems, and products illuminate display devices. An image is injected into a waveguide. The image propagates at total internal reflectance within the waveguide. A frustrator withdraws a frustrated image from the waveguide, and the frustrated image may be displayed to a viewer.
Claims20
A display device, comprising:
- multiple projectors receiving an electrical power to output separate images;
- a waveguide propagating the separate images output by the multiple projectors;
- a frustrator withdrawing an optical combination of the separate images from a surface of the waveguide;
- and
- a diffuser optically diffusing the optical combination of the separate images withdrawn from the surface of the waveguide.

- injecting, by multiple projectors, separate images into a waveguide;
- reflecting, within the waveguide, the separate images at total internal reflectance;
- applying a frustrator to the waveguide;
- withdrawing an optical combination of the separate images through the frustrator;
- and
- optically diffusing the optical combination of the separate images withdrawn through the frustrator;
- wherein the optical combination of the separate images is visible to a viewer.
