Abstract
The present invention provides a process for preparing an improved compounded product and a compounded product prepared by that process.
Claims15
A process for preparing an injection-molded compounded polyamide from a molten feedstock, the process comprising:
- preparing a polyamide feedstock in a molten state;
- introducing the molten polyamide feedstock or a portion thereof at a consistent rate directly to an extruder containing at least one degassing zone;
- mixing and/or blending the molten polyamide feedstock with one or more materials to provide a compounded polyamide;
- and
- subjecting the compounded polyamide to injection molding, wherein the injection molded compounded polyamide has a plate out value in an injection mold of less than about 3 mg/1,000 shots.
