A porous ceramic particle having a porosity of 20% to 99%, wherein one principal surface of the porous ceramic particle is a mirror surface, another principal surface of the porous ceramic particle is also a mirror surface that faces toward the one principal surface, and an aspect ratio thereof is greater than or equal to 3, and wherein the porous ceramic particle includes a plurality of side surfaces, and the side surfaces are rough surfaces.
