Abstract
The present invention relates, in general, to human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), and, in particular, to a method of inducing neutralizing antibodies to HIV and to compounds and compositions suitable for use in such a method.
Claims16
An immunogenic composition comprising a peptide comprising a HIV-1 gp41 2F5 epitope peptide having the amino acid sequence of ELDKWAS (SEQ ID NO:12) and a HIV-1 gp41 4E10 epitope peptide having the amino acid sequence WFNITNW (SEQ ID NO:21) and a linker, wherein the peptide is embedded in a liposome via the linker, wherein the liposome comprises an anionic lipid, and wherein the immunogenic composition does not have additional 4E10 or 2F5 epitope mimics besides SEQ ID NO:s 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, or 14.
