Abstract

A method for effecting angiogenesis in a subject at risk of or experiencing ischemia related to the heart, brain, kidney, intestine, and/or legs. The method involves administering Nigella sativa to the subject. The method may also treat ischemia.

Dependent claims

A method for effecting active coronary angiogenesis in a patient having ischemic heart disease comprising:

administering to said patient over a period of 4 to 52 weeks a first effective amount of Nigella sativa, thereby inducing active coronary angiogenesis in said patient.
