Abstract
Some people need to carry their medicines with them wherever they go. However, people can damage their medicines by leaving them outside in hot or cold weather. Specially designed systems can help increase safety by notifying people if their medicine is left behind or is getting too hot or cold.
Claims23
A method of receiving information regarding a medicine, the method comprising:
- obtaining a medicine storage system comprising a medicine storage area, wherein the medicine storage system comprises a predetermined minimum temperature threshold and a predetermined maximum temperature threshold;
- placing the medicine in the medicine storage area;
- and
- emitting, by the medicine storage system, a first alert in response to an interior temperature of an interior area of the medicine storage system being at least one of below the minimum temperature threshold and above the maximum temperature threshold.
A method of receiving information regarding a medicine, the method comprising:
- obtaining a medicine storage system comprising a medicine storage area and a wireless communication system configured to communicate with a remote computing device;
- placing the medicine in the medicine storage area;
- measuring, by the medicine storage system, a first interior temperature of an interior area of the medicine storage system;
- and
- receiving, by the remote computing device, a first alert in response to the first interior temperature being below a predetermined minimum temperature threshold.
A method of receiving information regarding a medicine, the method comprising:
- obtaining a medicine storage system comprising a medicine storage area and a wireless communication system configured to communicate with a remote computing device;
- placing the medicine in the medicine storage area;
- communicatively coupling the medicine storage system with the remote computing device via wireless communication, wherein the remote computing device is configured to communicatively uncouple from the medicine storage system in response to at least one of moving the remote computing device away from the medicine storage system and moving the medicine storage system away from the remote computing device;
- and
- receiving, by the remote computing device, a first alert in response to communicatively uncoupling the remote computing device from the medicine storage system.
A method of receiving information regarding a medicine, the method comprising:
- obtaining a medicine storage system comprising a medicine storage area and a wireless communication system configured to communicate with a first remote computing device;
- placing the medicine in the medicine storage area;
- and
- receiving, by the first remote computing device, a first alert in response to increasing a distance between the first remote computing device and the medicine storage system.
A method of storing a medicine, the method comprising:
- obtaining a medicine storage system having a medicine storage area;
- placing the medicine in the medicine storage area, wherein the medicine storage system comprises a phase change system having a first phase change material and a second phase change material, the first phase change material comprises a first melting temperature greater than 33 degrees Fahrenheit and less than 72 degrees Fahrenheit, and the second phase change material comprises a second melting temperature less than 100 degrees Fahrenheit and at least four degrees Fahrenheit greater than the first melting temperature;
- and
- shipping the medicine storage system such that the medicine storage system is configured to protect the medicine from a first external temperature less than the first melting temperature and from a second external temperature greater than the second melting temperature by utilizing phase changes of the first phase change material and the second phase change material to regulate a temperature of the medicine.
