Abstract
A protective perineal pad for use in lower limb procedures includes a wedge-shaped body having a top, a bottom, opposed sides, and a front and opposed back. A cavity extends into the body from a flat seat at the top, so that, when the pad is used with a patient, the cavity is disposed over a perineal area of the patient.
Claims14
A protective perineal pad comprising:
- a body having a top, a bottom, opposed sides, a front and an opposed back, and a post hole formed through the body configured to receive a perineal post for stabilizing a patient's body during traction;
- an enclosed cavity, continuously enclosed by the front, back, and sides, and extending into the body from the top, which, when the protective perineal pad is used with a patient, is disposed over a perineal area of the patient;
- and
- the body is wedge-shaped from the top to the bottom, wherein the top is narrower than the bottom.

- a body having a top, a bottom, opposed sides, a front and an opposed back, a post hole formed through the body configured to receive a perineal post for stabilizing a patient's body during traction, and a seat at the top of the body;
- an enclosed cavity extending into the body from the seat and enclosed by the front, back and sides, such that, when the protective perineal pad is used with a patient, the cavity is disposed over a perineal area of the patient;
