Abstract
A method performed by a STA may comprise transmitting a first ANQP message to an AP and receiving a second ANQP message in response. The second ANQP message may comprise a CCC value representing a configuration instance of the AP which is incremented by one upon a configuration change. The CCC value may wrap around once a maximum value is reached. The first ANQP message may comprise the CCC value or may comprise another CCC value which is different than the CCC value.
Claims20
A method performed by a station (STA), the method comprising:
- transmitting, to an access point (AP), a first access network query protocol (ANQP) message;
- and
- receiving, from the AP, in response to the transmitting of the first ANQP message, a second ANQP message comprising a configuration change count (CCC) value, wherein the CCC value represents a configuration instance of the AP and the CCC value represents a value which is incremented by one upon a configuration change of the AP;
- wherein the second ANQP message comprises configuration information including ANQP attributes.
A method performed by a station (STA), the method comprising:
- receiving, from an access point (AP), a beacon frame comprising a configuration change count (CCC) value;
- determining that there is no corresponding CCC value in a memory of the STA;
- transmitting a first access network query protocol (ANQP) message, to the AP;
- and
- receiving, from the AP, in response to the transmitting of the first ANQP message, a second ANQP message comprising the CCC value and a plurality of ANQP attributes corresponding to the CCC value.
A station (STA) comprising:
- a transmitter configured to transmit, to an access point (AP), a first access network query protocol (ANQP) message;
- and
- a receiver configured to receive, from the AP, in response to transmission of the first ANQP message, a second ANQP message comprising a configuration change count (CCC) value, wherein the CCC value represents a configuration instance of the AP and the CCC value represents a value which is incremented upon a configuration change of the AP;
- wherein the second ANQP message comprises configuration information including ANQP attributes and capability information.
