Abstract
Methods of creating an indoor confidence level comprising: receiving a location and location accuracy value from or for a device, wherein the location accuracy value is equated to a location accuracy circle; comparing the location and location accuracy circle to a map of known buildings and outdoor locations; and defining an indoor confidence level based upon the percent of overlap of the accuracy radius to a building on said map; and methods of defining an optimization priority among a set of collected data points for network connectivity.
Claims10
A method of creating an indoor confidence level comprising:
- receiving measurements comprising a location and location accuracy value from or for a device, wherein the location accuracy value is equated to a location accuracy circle;
- comparing the location and location accuracy circle to a map of known buildings and outdoor locations;
- wherein the map of known buildings is an electronically defined map comprising a plurality of polygons, each polygon defining a known building or structure, where within a perimeter of each polygon is defined as being indoors, and wherein all other space on said map is defined as outdoors;
- and defining an initial indoor confidence level based upon the percent of overlap of the accuracy radius to a building on said map;
- wherein the initial indoor confidence level is modified by (1) detecting whether the device is connected to a WiFi network;
- (2) detecting whether a battery in the device is charging;
- (3) detecting if the device is stationary;
- (4) detecting whether a device moves a distance in a period of time “T”, wherein said distance provides an indication of unreliable location mapping;
- and (5) detecting a location and comparing said location to a similar time and location from a previous day;
- and updating the initial indoor confidence.
