Abstract
A telecommunications assembly includes a tray assembly including a tray and a cable spool assembly rotatably mounted to the tray, a connector holder arrangement for temporarily holding connectors, wherein the connector holder arrangement is mounted for rotation with the cable spool assembly, and cable storage arrangements for individually storing cables from the cable spool assembly to the connector holder arrangement. After a main cable is unwound from the cable spool assembly, a connector can be removed from the connector holder assembly, and cable slack stored in the cable storage arrangement can be removed allowing connection of the connector to equipment.
Claims20
A telecommunications assembly comprising:
- a cable spool including a flange extending radially outwardly from an axial end of a drum;
- a cable wound around the drum of the cable spool, the cable extending between a first end and a second end, the first end of the cable being terminated at a plug connector, the second end of the cable including a plurality of connectorized pigtails;
- a connector holder arrangement carried with the cable spool during rotation of the cable spool when the cable is deployed from the cable spool, the connector holder arrangement configured to temporarily hold plug connectors terminating the connectorized pigtails at the second end of the cable;
- and
- a plurality of cassettes carried by the cable spool during rotation of the cable spool when the cable is deployed from the cable spool, each cassette holding slack length of a respective one of the connectorized pigtails.
