Abstract
The present invention provides methods and compositions for producing β-phellandrene hydrocarbons from a photosynthetic microorganism such as cyanobacteria.
Claims11
An isolated nucleic acid encoding β-phellandrene synthase, wherein the nucleic acid has at least 80% identity to SEQ ID NO:3.
A cell culture comprising a plurality of cyanobacteria host cells that are genetically modified to express a β-phellandrene synthase encoded by a nucleic acid that has at least 80% identity to SEQ ID NO:3.
A cyanobacterial host cell comprising a nucleic acid encoding β-phellandrene synthase integrated into cyanobacterial DNA, wherein the nucleic acid has at least 80% identity to SEQ ID NO:3.
