Abstract
Safe and effective exercise poses a specific set of challenges for subjects diagnosed with diabetes. These challenges include the coordination of exercise with blood glucose monitoring and insulin administration. Failure to coordinate these factors effectively can lead to various pathologies related to aberrant blood glucose levels. Presented herein are methods, systems, algorithms, computer program products, and computer-executable code for exercise guidance and instruction specific to diabetes relief and management. The approaches as disclosed herein can help ameliorate, slow, or reduce a likelihood of developing a diabetic condition.
Claims23
A method comprising:
- performing, by a subject, an exercise;
- while performing the exercise, receiving, by the subject, a reading of a blood glucose level in the subject from a telecommunications device, wherein the reading of the blood glucose level is obtained from a glucose monitoring device while the subject is performing the exercise;
- receiving, by the subject, from the telecommunications device, an instructional exercise communication that recommends a recommended exercise to the subject, wherein the instructional exercise communication is based on the reading of the blood glucose level obtained from the subject while the subject is performing the exercise;
- and
