Abstract
Various aspects related to various apparatuses, methods, and computer-readable medium are described herein. Some aspects may enable an apparatus to protect downlink (DL) communication(s). Some aspects may enable an apparatus to perform DL communication(s). Some aspects may enable an apparatus to communicate regarding uplink (UL) communication(s). Some aspects may enable an apparatus to perform operation(s) related to an allocation vector. Some aspects may enable an apparatus to perform operation(s) related to random access. Some aspects may enable an apparatus to perform UL communication(s). The written description and appended drawings provide detailed descriptions regarding these and many other aspects.

A station (STA) for wireless communication, the STA comprising:
- a transceiver configured to receive a downlink (DL) transmission comprising a packet intended for a plurality of STAs;
- and
- one or more processors configured to:
- determine whether a portion of a header of the packet is repeated at least once, determine that the packet is a legacy packet if the portion of the header is not repeated at least once, and determine that the packet is not a legacy packet if the portion of the header is repeated at least once;
- use a field included in the packet to determine a total number of space-time streams (STSs) included in the packet and further use the field to select a subset of values from a set of values indicating a number of STSs intended for each of at least some of the plurality of STAs;
- and
- determine a value of a user position (UP) assigned to the STA and select which of the plurality of STSs in the packet is/are intended for the STA by considering a number of STSs allocated to any other STA(s) each assigned a UP value that is different from the UP value assigned to the STA,
- wherein the transceiver is further configured to:
- receive an uplink (UL) transmission request (ULTR) configured to trigger UL transmission within a period of time after receiving the ULTR, the ULTR comprising a first portion including a field common to one or more STAs and indicating a duration of at least a portion of the UL transmission, the ULTR further comprising information for identifying the one or more STAs for the UL transmission;
- and
- transmit the UL transmission in response to receiving the ULTR.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising code or instructions that, when executed, is/are configured to cause a station (STA) to:
- receive a downlink (DL) transmission comprising a packet destined for a plurality of STAs;
- determine whether a portion of a header of the packet is repeated at least once, wherein a portion of a header of the packet being repeated at least once indicates that the packet is not a legacy packet, and the portion of the header of the packet not being repeated at least once indicates that the packet is a legacy packet;
- use a field included in the packet to determine a total number of space-time streams (STSs) included in the packet and further use the field to select a subset of values from a set of values indicating a number of STSs destined for each of at least some of the plurality of STAs;
- determine a value of a user position (UP) assigned to the STA and select which of the plurality of STSs in the packet is/are destined for the STA by considering a number of STSs allocated to any other STA(s) each assigned a UP value that is different from the UP value assigned to the STA;
- receive an uplink (UL) transmission request (ULTR) configured to trigger UL transmission within a period of time after receiving the ULTR, wherein the ULTR comprises a first portion including a field common to one or more STAs and indicating a duration of at least a portion of the UL transmission, wherein the ULTR further comprises information for identifying the one or more STAs for the UL transmission;
- and
- transmit the UL transmission in response to receiving the ULTR.
An access point (AP) for wireless communication, the AP comprising:
- one or more processors configured to generate a packet intended for a plurality of stations (STAs);
- and
- a transceiver configured to transmit a downlink (DL) transmission comprising the packet intended for the plurality of STAs, wherein a portion of a header of the packet being repeated at least once indicates that the packet is not a legacy packet, and the portion of the header of the packet not being repeated at least once indicates that the packet is a legacy packet, wherein a field included in the packet is useable by at least a STA of the plurality of STAs to determine a total number of space-time streams (STSs) included in the packet, and the field is further useable by the STA to select a subset of values from a set of values indicating a number of STSs intended for each of at least some of the plurality of STAs, wherein, after a value of a user position (UP) is assigned to the STA, a selection of which of the plurality of STSs in the packet is/are intended for the STA includes a consideration of a number of STSs allocated to any other STA(s) that is/are each assigned a UP value that is different from the UP value assigned to the STA,
- wherein the one or more processors is/are further configured to generate an uplink (UL) transmission request (ULTR), wherein the transceiver is further configured to transmit the ULTR, the ULTR being configured to trigger UL transmission within a period of time after the transceiver transmits the ULTR, the ULTR comprising information for identifying one or more STAs for the UL transmission and further comprising a first portion including a field common to the one or more STAs and indicating a duration of at least a portion of the UL transmission, wherein the transceiver is further configured to receive the UL transmission in response to transmission of the ULTR.
