Abstract
This document describes biochemical pathways for producing isoprene by forming two vinyl groups in a central precursor produced from isobutyryl-CoA, 3-methyl-2-oxopentanoate, or 4-methyl-2-oxopentanoate as well as recombinant hosts for producing isoprene.
Claims2
A recombinant host producing isoprene, said host comprising at least one exogenous nucleic acid encoding (i) a 2-hydroxyacyl-CoA dehydratase or a β-ketoacyl-ACP-synthase;
- (ii) an acyl-ACP dehydrogenase, a monooxygenase, a cytochrome P450, or a dehydratase classified under EC 4.2.1- and (iii) a mevalonate diphosphate decarboxylase, a mevalonate 3-kinase, an acyl ACP decarboxylating thioesterase, or a linalool dehydratase, said host producing isoprene.
