Abstract
The present invention relates to metalloproteases and the use thereof in cleaning processes, such as laundry and dish wash. The invention also relates to detergent compositions and cleaning compositions comprising a metalloprotease.
Claims21
A detergent composition suitable for laundry or dishwashing, the detergent composition comprising an isolated polypeptide having protease activity and a surfactant, wherein the isolated polypeptide having protease activity is selected from the group consisting of:
- a) a polypeptide having at least 95% sequence identity to the mature polypeptide of SEQ ID NO:
- 2, or the mature polypeptide of SEQ ID NO:
- 4;
- b) a polypeptide encoded by a polynucleotide having at least 95% sequence identity to the mature polypeptide coding sequence of SEQ ID NO:
- 1 or SEQ ID NO:
- 3;
- and
- c) a fragment of a polypeptide of (a) or (b) that has protease activity, wherein the detergent composition is in the form of a powder, a tablet, or a granule.
An isolated polynucleotide encoding a polypeptide having protease activity, wherein the polypeptide having protease activity is selected from the group consisting of
- a) a polypeptide having at least 95% sequence identity to the mature polypeptide of SEQ ID NO:
- 2, or the mature polypeptide of SEQ ID NO:
- 4;
- b) a polypeptide encoded by a polynucleotide having at least 95% sequence identity to the mature polypeptide coding sequence of SEQ ID NO:
- 1 or SEQ ID NO:
- 3;
- and
- c) a fragment of a polypeptide of a) or b) that has protease activity,
- wherein the polynucleotide is modified to correspond to the codon usage of a host cell intended for recombinant production of the enzyme wherein the polynucleotide is operably linked to one or more control sequences that direct the production of the polypeptide in a host cell.
A detergent composition formulated as a powder, a tablet, or granule, the detergent composition comprising an isolated polypeptide having protease activity and a surfactant, wherein the isolated polypeptide having protease activity is selected from the group consisting of:
- (a) a polypeptide having at least 95% sequence identity to the mature polypeptide of SEQ ID NO:
- 2, or the mature polypeptide of SEQ ID NO:
- 4;
- (b) a polypeptide encoded by a polynucleotide having at least 95% sequence identity to the mature polypeptide coding sequence of SEQ ID NO:
- 1 or SEQ ID NO:
- 3;
- and
- (c) a fragment of a polypeptide of (a) or (b) that has protease activity.
