Abstract
The present disclosure is directed to a device. The device may include a distal shaft defining a central lumen and an orienting element comprising at least one inflatable member. Wherein a first portion of the orienting element extending from the shaft in a first direction and a second portion of the orienting element extending from the shaft in a second direction. Further, wherein the second direction is substantially opposite the first direction.
Claims20
A method of facilitating treatment via a vascular wall defining a vascular lumen containing an occlusion therein comprising:
- advancing an elongate catheter shaft through a vascular lumen proximal of an occlusion within the vascular lumen, wherein the catheter shaft includes a guidewire lumen extending to a distal guidewire opening, a first aperture extending through a wall of the catheter shaft to the guidewire lumen, and a second aperture extending through a wall of the catheter shaft to the guidewire lumen;
- advancing a distal region of the catheter shaft, including the first and second apertures, to a position between an adventitia and an intima of a vascular wall;
- and
- advancing a re-entry device within the guidewire lumen of the catheter such that a distal tip of the re-entry device exits one of the first aperture and the second aperture toward the vascular lumen distal of the occlusion.
A method of facilitating treatment via a vascular wall defining a vascular lumen containing an occlusion therein comprising:
- advancing a guidewire through a vascular lumen to a location proximal of an occlusion;
- advancing a distal end of the guidewire between an intima and an adventitia of a vascular wall until the distal end of the guidewire is distal of the occlusion;
- advancing a catheter shaft over the guidewire, with the guidewire extending through a guidewire lumen of the catheter shaft until a distal region of the catheter shaft is positioned between the intima and the adventitia, wherein the distal region includes a first aperture and a second aperture, wherein both the first aperture and the second aperture are located proximal of a distal end of the catheter shaft and in fluid communication with the guidewire lumen;
- withdrawing the guidewire from the guidewire lumen;
- and
- advancing a re-entry device through the guidewire lumen such that a distal tip of the re-entry device exits one of the first aperture and the second aperture toward the vascular lumen distal of the occlusion.
