A medical device comprising a structure formed of polyvinyl alcohol.

A method for creating a medical device comprising:
- 3D printing the medical device out of polyvinyl alcohol;
- and
- crosslinking the polyvinyl alcohol with an aldehyde;
- wherein the medical device is a vascular stent;
- and
- the aldehyde has three or more Carbon atoms.
