Abstract
An automated plant cultivation system is provided having multi-tiered vertically arranged horizontal magazine structures each employing seed or plant capsules with a fluid circulation and illumination and communication network controlled by an on-board processor. Particularly, the system includes a magazine structure having seed/plant capsules within seed/plant reservoirs alternately arranged between at least one of a light source substantially concealed from direct viewing. A fluid channel extends across a long axis of the magazine structure, wherein the magazine structure is adapted for use of seed/plant capsules with nutrient composite plant growth cultivation, hydroponic plant growth cultivation, aeroponic plant growth cultivation methods or combinations thereof.
Claims14
An automated vertical plant cultivation system comprising:
- a linear magazine structure for plant cultivation comprising:
- at least one enclosed and accessible fluid supply channel extending between a double wall along a long axis of the magazine structure;
- a light emitting source substantially concealed from direct view;
- and
- at least two seed or plant reservoirs adjacent each other, each seed or plant reservoir comprising a bottom surface and two side walls extending from said double wall for retaining at least one removable seed or plant capsule and in fluid communication with said at least one fluid supply channel, and each seed or plant reservoir comprising outer surface of the side walls, wherein one outer surface of each of the at least two adjacent seed or plant reservoirs form a reflector with an opening at an apex of the reflector wherein the light emitting source extends into the reflector through the opening at the apex and conceals the light emitting source, the light emitting source illuminating plants below the light emitting source, and wherein the light emitting source illuminates plants above the light emitting source through the opening in the apex of the reflector.
An automated vertical plant cultivation system comprising a magazine structure having:
- at least two sets of double walls extending between end walls of the magazine structure;
- seed or plant reservoirs having removable seed or plant capsules within the seed or plant reservoirs, the seed or plant reservoirs alternately arranged between light emitting sources substantially concealed inside the magazine structure from direct viewing, each seed or plant reservoir comprising a bottom surface and two side walls extending between the double walls and forming an inner volume for retaining one of the seed or plant capsules and allowing fluid into said reservoir, and each seed or plant reservoir comprising outer surface of the side walls, wherein the outer surface of the side wall of two adjacent seed or plant reservoirs form a reflector with an opening at an apex of the reflector wherein the light emitting source extends into the reflector through the opening at the apex and conceals the light emitting source, the light emitting source illuminating plants below the light emitting source and illuminating plants above the light emitting source through the opening;
- and
- a fluid channel extending within each set of double walls across a long axis of the magazine structure, wherein one fluid channel is an inlet channel and the other fluid channel is an exit fluid channel, wherein the magazine structure is used for one of the seed or plant capsules with nutrient composite plant growth cultivation, hydroponic plant growth cultivation, aeroponic plant growth cultivation methods or combinations thereof.
