Abstract
A developing device that is useable with an electrophotographic image forming apparatus includes a developing roller for developing an electrostatic latent image formed on an electrophotographic photosensitive drum. The developing device also includes a coupling member for transmitting a rotating force to the developing roller.

An image forming apparatus comprising:
- a main assembly;
- a driving shaft;
- a supporting member linearly movable in a direction substantially perpendicular to an axis of the driving shaft;
- and
- a cartridge detachably mounted on the supporting member, the cartridge including (i) a rotatable member, and (ii) a coupling member engaging with the driving shaft to transmit a driving force received from the driving shaft to the rotatable member,
- wherein the coupling member is movable between a first position in which an axis of the coupling member is substantially parallel to the axis of the driving shaft and a second position in which the axis of the coupling member is inclined relative to the axis of the driving shaft.
