Dye compound, polarizer using the dye compound, and display device using the dye compound

A polarizer comprising:

• a dye alignment layer;
• and
• a polarizing layer which is disposed on the dye alignment layer and comprises a polymer derived from a compound represented by one of formulae (A-1), (A-2), (A-3):
• wherein, in formulae (A-1), (A-2), (A-3),
• CycA1 and each CycA0 are each independently 1,4-phenylene or 1,4-cyclohexylene,
• each EA0 is independently a single bond, *—(C═O)O—*, *—O(C═O)—*, C1-4 alkylene of the formula *—(CH2)k—* wherein k is a natural number, *—CH═CH—*, or *—C≡C—*,
• j1 is an integer of 1 to 3,
• LA1 is a single bond, *—O—*, *—(C═O)O—*, or *—O(C═O)—*,
• LA2 and LA3 are each independently a single bond or *—O—*,
• k1 is an integer of 0 to 12,
• k2 is an integer of 6 to 10,
• each RA1′ in formulae (A-1) through (A-3) is independently an acrylate group or a methacrylate group, and
• RA2′ in formula (A-1) is a C1-10 alkyl group or a C1-10 alkoxy group.

A display device comprising a polarizing layer which comprises a polymer derived from a compound represented by one of formulae (A-1), (A-2), (A-3):

• wherein, in formulae (A-1), (A-2), (A-3),
• CycA1 and each CycA0 are each independently 1,4-phenylene or 1,4-cyclohexylene, each EA0 is independently a single bond, *—(C═O)O—*, *—O(C═O)—*, C1-4 alkylene of the formula *—(CH2)k—* wherein k is a natural number, *—CH═CH—*, or *—C≡C—*,
• j1 is an integer of 1 to 3,
• LA1 is a single bond, *—O—*, *—(C═O)O—*, or *—O(C═O)—*,
• LA2 and LA3 are each independently a single bond or *—O—*,
• k1 is an integer of 0 to 12,
• k2 is an integer of 6 to 10,
• each RA1′ in formulae (A-1) through (A-3) is independently an acrylate group or a methacrylate group, and
• RA2′ in formula (A-1) is a C1-10 alkyl group or a C1-10 alkoxy group.
