Abstract
The present invention provides a method for the treatment or prophylaxis of bacterial infections by administering to a subject in need thereof an effective amount of a compound of formula.
Claims17
A method for treating a subject suffering from or susceptible to a bacterial infection, the method comprising:
- administering an effective amount of a compound to the subject,
- wherein the compound has the formula (I):
- wherein
- R1 is hydrogen, OH or a group of formula —O—C1-6 alkyl;
- R2 is hydrogen, OH or a group of formula —O—C1-6 alkyl;
- R3 is hydrogen, OH or a group of formula —O—C1-6 alkyl;
- R4 is hydrogen, OH or a group of formula —O—C1-6 alkyl;
- and
- R5 is a group of the following formula:
- wherein R6 is OH or NH2;
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, or a pharmaceutically acceptable formulation thereof.
