Abstract
An apparatus for removing a display from a tiled display arrangement is provided. The apparatus includes a body, a handle coupled to a first side of the body, and an interface material coupled to the second side of the body. The interface material is configured to temporarily bond to a front surface of the display for removing the display from the tiled display arrangement. The interface material is further configured to selectively de-bond from the front surface of the display. In some implementations, the interface material may be selected to result in a bond with high tensile strength and shear strength, as well as low peel strength.
Claims10
An apparatus for removing a display in a tiled display arrangement, the apparatus comprising:
- a body having a first side and a second side opposing the first side;
- a handle coupled to the first side of the body;
- and
- an interface material coupled to the second side of the body, the interface material configured to form a bond to a front surface of the display, the bond having a shear strength for removing the display from the tiled display arrangement;
- and
- a peeling mechanism of the body, the peeling mechanism to apply a peeling force to the bond to de-bond the apparatus from the front surface of the display, wherein the bond has a peel strength of about 5-10% of the shear strength.
