A method of inducing an immune response in a subject, the method comprising administering to the subject an immunogenic composition comprising a ribonucleic acid (RNA) polynucleotide having an open reading frame encoding a Zika virus (ZIKV) prME protein that comprises the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:
