Abstract
One or more workpieces having a desired gear geometry may be produced by means of a suitably dressed tool which is respectively dressed by a dresser after the carrying out of one or more machining steps before further machining steps are carried out at the same workpiece or at further workpieces. A relative position between the dresser and the tool may be changed by a corresponding additional adjustment of the axes of movement of the dressing machine in a later dressing process with respect to an earlier dressing process in addition to the smaller center distance resulting from the smaller tool diameter.
Claims15
A method of manufacturing one or more workpieces having a desired gear geometry by means of a suitably dressed tool, wherein, after carrying out of one or more machining steps, a first dressing of the tool is respectively performed by a dresser of a dressing machine before further machining steps are carried out at a same workpiece or at further workpieces, wherein, in a later dressing procedure, a relative position between the dresser and the tool is changed with respect to a prior dressing procedure in addition to a smaller center distance resulting by a smaller tool diameter by a corresponding additional adjustment of axes of movement of the dressing machine, wherein the additional adjustment of the axes of movement of the dressing machine is in accordance with one or more of the following:
- the additional adjustment partly compensates modifications of a gear geometry which result by the smaller tool diameter;
- an adjustment with respect to a dressing without such an additional adjustment effecting a change of a profile crowning resulting during dressing;
- the additional adjustment is selected such that a deviation of the gear geometry resulting on the workpiece from the desired gear geometry is reduced and/or minimized;
- and the additional adjustment reduces or minimizes a deviation of the gear geometry produced on the tool by the dresser from the desired gear geometry.
A method of manufacturing one or more workpieces having a desired gear geometry by means of a suitably dressed tool, wherein, after carrying out of one or more machining steps, the tool is respectively dressed before further machining steps are carried out at a same workpiece or at further workpieces, wherein, in a later dressing procedure, a profile angle of the tool is changed with respect to an earlier dressing procedure so that the workpiece or workpieces is or are gear manufacturing machined with a different profile angle of gearing of the tool after the later dressing procedure than after the earlier dressing procedure performed before the later dressing procedure, wherein at least one out of the following conditions applies:
- a) the profile angle is respectively selected such that a deviation of a gear geometry resulting on the workpiece is reduced or minimized with respect to the desired gear geometry;
- and
- b) at least one out of a stretching and a compression of a modification produced on the tool by a modified dresser is reduced or minimized by the change of the profile angle.
A method of manufacturing a workpiece having a desired gear geometry by means of a tool suitably dressed by a modified dresser, comprising the steps:
- specifying the desired gear geometry of the workpiece;
- and
- determining a suitable profile angle of the tool and a suitable relative position between the dresser and the tool during dressing of the tool for providing the desired gear geometry of the workpiece at least within a permitted tolerance in the machining by the tool, wherein the profile angle and the relative position between the dresser and the tool are determined during dressing such that a desired compression and/or stretching of a modification of the dresser results on the tool during dressing, with the profile angle being determined such that the compression and/or stretching of the modification of the dresser on the tool resulting by the relative position between the dresser and the tool is compensated by the profile angle.
A method for modified dressing of a tool used for gear manufacturing machining of a workpiece on a dressing machine, wherein a modified dresser is used for dressing the tool, wherein one or more axes of movement of the dressing machine, a macrogeometry of the tool, and a macrogeometry of the dresser are set during the dressing of the tool such that the modification of the dresser is applied to the tool compressed or stretched by a specified amount, wherein at least one out of a number of starts, a diameter, and a profile angle of the tool is selected such that the modification of the dresser is applied to the tool compressed or stretched by the specified amount.
A method of manufacturing a workpiece having a desired gear geometry by means of a tool suitably dressed by a modified dresser, comprising the steps:
- specifying the desired gear geometry of the workpiece;
- and
- determining a suitable profile angle of the tool and a suitable relative position between the dresser and the tool during the dressing of the tool for providing the desired gear geometry of the workpiece at least within a permitted tolerance in the machining by the tool, wherein a desired modification of the tool is in accordance with one or more of the following:
- the modification is specified at at least two rolling angles and is produced by a setting of axes of movement of a dressing machine;
- the relative position between the dresser and the tool is determined during dressing such that a desired profile crowning is produced on the tool;
- and wherein an association of a specific radius of the dresser with a specific radius of the tool is specified and is achieved by a corresponding setting of the axes of movement of the dressing machine.
