Abstract
Provided is a formed body containing at least one carbonate compound (A1) selected from Na2CO3 or K2CO3, the formed body having a volume of pores with a pore diameter of from 0.05 μm to 10 μm of from 0.10 mL/g to 0.30 mL/g and a crushing strength of from 1.8 kgf to 10.0 kgf.

An α-olefin dimerization catalyst comprising a formed body and an alkali metal (D) supported on the formed body,
- wherein the formed body comprises at least one carbonate compound (A1) selected from Na2CO3 or K2CO3 in a content of 70% by mass or more, the formed body having a volume of pores with a pore diameter of from 0.05 μm to 10 μm of from 0.10 mL/g to 0.30 mL/g and a crushing strength of from 1.8 kgf to 10.0 kgf.
