Abstract

A furniture member may include a seat assembly and a legrest assembly. The seat assembly includes a seat bottom and a seatback. The legrest assembly may include a legrest platform and articulating arm assemblies. Each articulating arm assembly may include first and second link-housings and first and second control links. The first link-housings may be rotatably attached to the seat bottom. The second link-housings may be rotatably attached to respective first link-housings and the legrest platform. The first control links may be disposed within respective first link-housings. Rotation of the first link-housings relative to the seat bottom may cause relative movement between the first control links and the first link-housings and relative movement between the first control links and the second link-housings. The second control links may be disposed at least partially within respective second link-housings and may be movably coupled to the second link-housings and to the legrest platform.

Dependent claims

A furniture member comprising:

a seat assembly including a seat bottom and a seatback;
and
a legrest assembly including a legrest platform, a push bar and a pair of articulating arm assemblies, each of the articulating arm assemblies including a first link-housing, a second link-housing, a first control link, and a second control link;
the first link-housings are fixedly attached to the push bar and are rotatably attached to the seat bottom;
each of the second link-housings is rotatably attached to a respective one of the first link-housings, the second link-housings are rotatably attached to the legrest platform;
each of the first control links is disposed within a respective one of the first link-housings, wherein rotation of the first link-housings relative to the seat bottom causes relative movement between the first control links and the first link-housings and relative movement between the first control links and the second link-housings;
and
each of the second control links is disposed at least partially within a respective one of the second link-housings, the second control links are movably coupled to the second link-housings and movably coupled to the legrest platform.

A furniture member comprising:

a seat assembly including armrest members, a seat bottom and a seatback, the seat bottom disposed between the armrest members and movable relative to the armrest members;
a base assembly supporting the seat assembly, wherein the seat bottom is movable relative to the base assembly;
and
a legrest assembly including a legrest platform, a pair of articulating arm assemblies, each of the articulating arm assemblies including a first link-housing and a second link-housing, the first link-housings are rotatably attached to the seat bottom, each of the second link-housings is rotatably attached to a respective one of the first link-housings, the second link-housings are rotatably attached to the legrest platform,
wherein the legrest assembly is mounted only to the seat bottom, and the entire legrest assembly is movable with the seat bottom relative to the armrest members and the base assembly while remaining fixed relative to the seat bottom such that a distance between the legrest platform and a front frame member of the seat bottom does not change in response to movement of the seat bottom relative to the armrest members and base assembly.
