## Abstract

The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for normalizing insufficient signals based on additional information. A probability of an event occurring is detected from a raw signal. It is determined signal characteristics of the raw signal are insufficient to normalize the raw signal along at least one of: a time, location, or context dimension. In one aspect, an additional signal relevant to the signal is ingested. In another aspect, a previously detected event relevant to the signal is accessed from a geo cell database. The raw signal is normalized, including deriving at least one of: the time dimension, the location dimension, or the context dimension from a combination of the signal characteristics and characteristics of the other signal and/or characteristics of the previously detected event.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A system comprising:
a processor; and
system memory coupled to the processor and storing instructions configured to cause the processor to:
compute a single source probability value for the signal from plurality of signal characteristics of the signal that at least approximate a probability that the signal indicates an event occurring;
subsequent to computing the single source probability, determine the plurality of signal characteristics are insufficient to normalize the signal along at least one of: a time dimension, a location dimension, or a context dimension;
trigger a signal request requesting additional signals in view of the single source probability and in response to determining that the signal characteristics are insufficient; and
ingest an additional signal relevant to the signal; and
apply a transdimensionality transform to data in the signal to re-encode the data into normalized data having lower dimensionality, including deriving at least one of: the time dimension, the location dimension, or the context dimension from a combination of the signal characteristics and characteristics of the additional signal.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the instructions configured to compute a probability value further comprise instructions configured to compute a probability value that at least approximates a probability that the signal indicates a live event occurring.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein instructions configured to ingest the signal further comprise instructions configured to ingest the signal from a signal source; and
wherein instructions configured to ingest the additional signal comprise instructions configured to ingest the additional signal from different signal source.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, further comprising instructions configured to:
detect the event based on at least one of: the time dimension, the location dimension, or the context dimension;
determine the event is relevant to an entity; and
notify the entity about the event.

### Claim 7

A system comprising:
a processor; and
system memory coupled to the processor and storing instructions configured to cause the processor to:
ingest a signal;
compute a single source probability value for the signal from a plurality of signal characteristics of the signal that at least approximate a probability that the signal indicates an event occurring at a location;
determine the plurality of signal characteristics are insufficient to reduce the dimensionality of the signal;
subsequent to computing the single source probability, request previously detected events within a specified distance of the location from a geo cell database in view of the single source probability and in response to determining that the signal characteristics are insufficient;
receive a previously detected event related to the signal from the geo cell database; and
re-encode data in the signal into normalized data having reduced dimensionality, including deriving at least one of: a time dimension, a location dimension, or a context dimension from a combination of the signal characteristics and characteristics of the previously detected event.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

The system of claim 7, wherein the instructions configured to compute the single source probability value comprise instructions configured to compute a probability value that at least approximates a probability of a live event occurring.

a processor; and
system memory coupled to the processor and storing instructions configured to cause the processor to:
ingest a signal;
compute a single source probability value for the signal from a plurality of signal characteristics of the signal that at least approximate a probability of an event occurring;
subsequent to computing the single source probability, determine the plurality of signal characteristics are insufficient to normalize the signal along at least one of: a time dimension, a location dimension, or a context dimension;
obtain supplemental information from an additional signal and from a previously detected event in view of the single source probability and in response to determining that the signal characteristics are insufficient;
