## Abstract

Methods and apparatuses for CSI reporting mechanisms are provided. A user equipment (UE) includes a transceiver and a processor operably connected to the transceiver. The transceiver is configured to receive information indicating a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) resource configuration, uplink-related downlink control information (DCI), and a CSI-RS associated with a selected CSI-RS resource in a same subframe as the uplink-related DCI. The processor configured to determine, in response to a CSI request included in the uplink-related DCI, an aperiodic CSI in reference to the CSI-RS. The transceiver is further configured to report the aperiodic CSI by transmitting the aperiodic CSI on an uplink channel.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method of transmitting channel state information (CSI) by a terminal in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
receiving, from a base station, first information for configuring a set of CSI reference signal (CSI-RS) resources;
receiving, from the base station, second information for selecting at least one CSI-RS resource from the set of CSI-RS resources;
receiving, from the base station, downlink control information (DCI) requesting a report of a CSI, the DCI indicating a CSI-RS resource among the at least one CSI-RS resource;
calculating a CSI parameter based on a CSI-RS corresponding to the indicated CSI-RS resource; and
transmitting, to the base station, the CSI based on the calculated CSI parameter.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein a message including the first information further comprises third information on an offset between a slot containing the DCI and a slot in which the CSI-RS is received, and
wherein the message further includes fourth information for configuring a report for the set of CSI-RS resources to be aperiodic.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The method of claim 2, wherein the second information indicates the selected at least one CSI-RS resource by using a bitmap, and
wherein each bit of the bitmap corresponds to a CSI-RS resource in the set of CSI-RS resources.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The method of claim 3, wherein the message is received by radio resource control (RRC) signaling, and
wherein the second information is included in a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE).

### Claim 5

A terminal of transmitting channel state information (CSI) in a wireless communication system, the terminal comprising:
a transceiver configured to transmit and receive signals; and
a controller configured to:
receive, from a base station, first information for configuring a set of CSI reference signal (CSI-RS) resources,
receive, from the base station, second information for selecting at least one CSI-RS resource from the set of CSI-RS resources,
receive, from the base station, downlink control information (DCI) requesting a report of a CSI, the DCI indicating a CSI-RS resource among the at least one CSI-RS resource,
calculate a CSI parameter based on a CSI-RS corresponding to the indicated CSI-RS resource, and
transmit, to the base station, the CSI based on the calculated CSI parameter.

### Claim 6 (depends on 5)

The terminal of claim 5, wherein a message including the first information further comprises third information on an offset between a slot containing the DCI and a slot in which the CSI-RS is received, and
wherein the message further includes fourth information for configuring a report for the set of CSI-RS resources to be aperiodic.

### Claim 7 (depends on 6)

The terminal of claim 6, wherein the second information indicates the selected at least one CSI-RS resource by using a bitmap, and
wherein each bit of the bitmap corresponds to a CSI-RS resource in the set of CSI-RS resources.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

The terminal of claim 7, wherein the message is received by a radio resource control (RRC) signaling, and
wherein the second information is included in a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE).

### Claim 9

A method of receiving channel state information (CSI) by a base station in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
transmitting, to a terminal, first information for configuring a set of CSI reference signal (CSI-RS) resources;
transmitting, to the terminal, second information for selecting at least one CSI-RS resource from the set of CSI-RS resources;
transmitting, to the terminal, downlink control information (DCI) requesting a report of a CSI, the DCI indicating a CSI-RS resource among the at least one CSI-RS resources; and
receiving, from the terminal, a CSI calculated based on a CSI-RS corresponding to the indicated CSI-RS resource.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)
