## Abstract

A cellulase having improved enzymatic activity is disclosed. The cellulase has a modified amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2 or a modified amino acid sequence with at least 80% sequence identity of SEQ ID NO: 2, wherein the modification is a substitution of methionine at position 120 or a corresponding position with asparagine.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A cellulase having a modified amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2 or a modified amino acid sequence with at least 80% sequence identity of SEQ ID NO: 2, wherein the modification is a substitution of methionine at position 120 or a corresponding position with asparagine.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The cellulase according to claim 1 wherein a gene encoding the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2 is FI-CMCase gene isolated from Aspergillus aculeatus F-50.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The cellulase according to claim 1 being an endoglucanase.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The cellulase according to claim 1 having the full length amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 5.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

A nucleic acid encoding the cellulase of claim 1.

### Claim 6 (depends on 5)

A recombinant plasmid comprising the nucleic acid of claim 5.
