Abstract
Provided are a supported catalyst including: a support body which is formed by a catalyst composition being supported by a carrier, in which the catalyst composition contains an oxide of copper, and the carrier contains αAl2O3.βB2O3 (α and β each represent a positive number); and a hydrogen production method for producing hydrogen from ammonia, including: an ammonia combustion step of reacting ammonia with oxygen in the presence of the supported catalyst; and an ammonia decomposition step of decomposing the ammonia into hydrogen and nitrogen by utilizing heat generated by the reaction between the ammonia and the oxygen.
Claims3
A supported catalyst comprising:
- a support body which is formed by a catalyst composition being supported by a carrier,
- wherein the catalyst composition consists of an oxide of copper or a combination of an oxide of copper with at least one metal selected from the group consisting of silver, gold, iridium, platinum, palladium, rhodium, and ruthenium,
- the carrier consists of 10Al2O3.2B2O3, and
- the amount of the catalyst composition based on 100% by mass of the carrier is 4% by mass or more.
