## Abstract

An inbred corn line, designated 7DBDD0188, the plants and seeds of the inbred corn line 7DBDD0188, methods for producing a corn plant, either inbred or hybrid, produced by crossing the inbred corn line 7DBDD0188 with itself or with another corn plant, and hybrid corn seeds and plants produced by crossing the inbred line 7DBDD0188 with another corn line or plant and to methods for producing a corn plant containing in its genetic material one or more transgenes and to the transgenic corn plants produced by that method. This invention also relates to inbred corn lines derived from inbred corn line 7DBDD0188, to methods for producing other inbred corn lines derived from inbred corn line 7DBDD0188 and to the inbred corn lines derived by the use of those methods.

## Claims

### Claim 1

Seed of corn inbred line designated 7DBDD0188, or a part thereof, representative seed of the line having been deposited under ATCC Accession No. PTA-124386.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

A pericarp, germ or endosperm of the seed or part thereof of claim 1.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The seed of claim 1 further comprising a seed treatment on the surface of the seed.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

A corn plant produced by growing the seed of claim 1.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

A plant part of the corn plant of claim 4, the plant part selected from the group consisting of an intact plant cell, a plant protoplast, an embryo, a pollen, an ovule, a flower, a kernel, a seed, an ear, a cob, a leaf, a husk, a stalk, a root, a root tip, a brace root, a lateral tassel branch, an anther, a tassel, a glume, a tiller and a silk.

### Claim 6 (depends on 4)

Pollen or an ovule of the plant of claim 4.

### Claim 7 (depends on 4)

A corn plant having all the physiological and morphological characteristics of the corn plant of claim 4.

### Claim 8 (depends on 4)

A method for producing a corn plant, the method comprising (a) crossing the plant of claim 4, with another different corn plant to yield progeny corn seed.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

The method of claim 8, wherein the other, different corn plant is an inbred corn plant.

### Claim 10 (depends on 8)

The method of claim 8, further comprising:
(b) growing the progeny corn seed from step (a) under self-pollinating or sib-pollinating conditions for about 5 to about 7 generations; and
(c) harvesting resultant seed.

### Claim 11

A method of introducing a desired trait into corn inbred line 7DBDD0188, representative seed of the line having been deposited under ATCC Accession No. PTA-124386, the method comprising:
(a) crossing 7DBDD0188 plants with plants of another corn line that comprise a desired trait to produce F1 progeny plants;
(b) selecting F1 progeny plants;
(c) crossing F1 progeny plants that have the desired trait with 7DBDD0188 plants to produce backcross progeny plants;
(d) selecting for backcross progeny plants that comprise the desired trait and physiological and morphological characteristics of corn inbred line 7DBDD0188; and
(e) performing steps (c) and (d) sufficient times in succession to produce the selected or higher backcross progeny plants that comprise the desired trait and all of the physiological and morphological characteristics of corn inbred line 7DBDD0188 listed in Table 1 as determined at the 5% significance level when grown in the same environmental conditions.

### Claim 12 (depends on 11)

An inbred corn line comprising a desired trait produced by the method of claim 11.

### Claim 13

A seed of corn inbred line 7DBDD0188 further comprising a transgene that is inherited by the seed, wherein a sample of corn inbred line 7DBDD0188 has been deposited under ATCC Accession No. PTA-124386.

### Claim 14 (depends on 13)

The seed of claim 13, wherein the transgene confers a trait selected from the group consisting of male sterility, herbicide tolerance, insect resistance, disease resistance, waxy starch, modified fatty acid metabolism, modified phytic acid metabolism, modified carbohydrate metabolism and modified protein metabolism.

### Claim 15 (depends on 13)

A plant grown from the seed of claim 13.

### Claim 16 (depends on 15)

An F1 hybrid seed produced by crossing the plant of claim 15 with another different corn plant.

### Claim 17 (depends on 16)

The F1 hybrid seed of claim 16, further comprising a seed treatment on the surface of the seed.

### Claim 18 (depends on 16)

An F1 hybrid plant grown from the seed of claim 16, or a plant part thereof, the plant part comprising at least one cell of the F1 hybrid plant.

### Claim 19 (depends on 18)

A method of producing a commodity plant product comprising starch, syrup, silage, fat or protein, the method comprising producing the commodity plant product from the plant or plant part of claim 18.

### Claim 20 (depends on 18)

A method for producing a second maize plant, the method comprising crossing the maize plant or plant part of claim 18 with itself or with a different maize plant.
