Abstract
A communication apparatus determines whether or not a security function relating to communication of the communication apparatus is set when the information processing apparatus performs direct wireless communication; and controls to prohibit or permit wireless communication with the information processing apparatus in accordance with the determination result.
Claims15
A printing apparatus having a Wireless Fidelity (“Wi-Fi”) Direct function, the printing apparatus comprising:
- a printer;
- a wireless local area network interface (“wireless LAN I/F”) that performs wireless communication;
- at least one memory that stores instructions;
- and
- at least one processor that executes the instructions to:
- set an Internet Protocol (“IP”) filter;
- and
- apply the set IP filter to a communication by a predetermined communication function different from the Wi-Fi Direct function,
- wherein the set IP filter is not applied to a wireless communication with an external apparatus by the Wi-Fi Direct function via the wireless LAN I/F.
A printing apparatus having a Wireless Fidelity (“Wi-Fi”) Direct function, the printing apparatus comprising:
- a printer;
- a wireless local area network interface (“wireless LAN I/F”) that performs wireless communication;
- at least one memory that stores instructions;
- and
- at least one processor that executes the instructions to:
- set whether to use an Internet Protocol (“IP”) filter;
- and
- control the wireless LAN I/F to perform a wireless communication with an external apparatus by the Wi-Fi Direct function without using the IP filter even if using the IP filter has been set.
A method for controlling a printing apparatus having including a Wireless Fidelity (“Wi-Fi”) Direct function, the method comprising:
- setting an Internet Protocol (“IP”) filter;
- controlling a communication by a predetermined communication function different from the Wi-Fi Direct using the set IP filter;
- and
- performing a wireless communication with an external apparatus by the Wi-Fi Direct function without using the set IP filter.
A method for controlling a printing apparatus having including a Wireless Fidelity (“Wi-Fi”) Direct function, the method comprising:
- setting whether to use an Internet Protocol (“IP”) filter;
- and
- performing a wireless communication with an external apparatus by the Wi-Fi Direct function without using the IP filter even if using the IP filter has been set.
