Audio processing device and method therefor

An audio processing method, comprising:

• acquiring user's listening position information, wherein the user's listening position information indicates a user's listening position at which sound from a sound source is heard;
• acquiring first position information of the sound source, wherein the first position information indicates a first position of the sound source relative to a standard listening position;
• acquiring second position information of the sound source based on a user input, wherein the second position information indicates at least a second position of the sound source relative to the user's listening position;
• calculating third position information of the sound source based on the first position of the sound source, the second position of the sound source, and the user's listening position, wherein
• the third position information indicates a third position of the sound source relative to each of the user's listening position and the first position information of the sound source, and
• the first position information, the second position information, and the third position information of the sound source is expressed by spherical coordinates;
• correcting frequency characteristics of a waveform signal of the sound source based on a first distance greater than a second distance, wherein
• the first distance is a distance between the third position of the sound source and the user's listening position, and
• the second distance is a distance between the first position of the sound source and the standard listening position;
• generating a reproduction signal based on the corrected frequency characteristics of the waveform signal;
• and
• controlling the sound source to reproduce the reproduction signal.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium having stored thereon computer-executable instructions, which when executed by a computer, cause the computer to execute operations, the operations comprising:

• acquiring user's listening position information, wherein the user's listening position information indicates a user's listening position at which sound from a sound source is heard;
• acquiring first position information of the sound source, wherein the first position information indicates a first position of the sound source relative to a standard listening position;
• acquiring second position information of the sound source based on a user input, wherein the second position information indicates at least a second position of the sound source relative to the user's listening position;
• calculating third position information of the sound source based on the first position of the sound source, the second position of the sound source, and the user's listening position, wherein
• the third position information indicates a third position of the sound source relative to each of the user's listening position and the first position information of the sound source, and
• the first position information, the second position information, and the second position information of the sound source is expressed by spherical coordinates;
• correcting frequency characteristics of a waveform signal of the sound source based on a first distance greater than a second distance, wherein
• the first distance is a distance between the third position of the sound source and the user's listening position, and
• the second distance is a distance between the first position of the sound source and the standard listening position;
• generating a reproduction signal based on the corrected frequency characteristics of the waveform signal;
• and
• controlling the sound source to reproduce the reproduction signal.
