TV mode change in accordance with number of viewers present

A computer system, wherein the computer system is coupled to a connected TV having a plurality of operating modes, and the plurality of operating modes includes:

• a personal mode, a shared mode, and a party mode comprising:
• one or more processors;
• memory;
• and
• one or more programs, wherein the one or more programs are stored in the memory and configured to be executed by the one or more processors, the one or more programs including instructions for:
• operating the connected TV in a first operating mode, including applying first privacy settings associated with the first operating mode on the connected TV and applying first control settings associated with the first operating mode on one or more input devices associated with the connected TV;
• while operating the connected TV in the first operating mode based on the first privacy and control settings, monitoring a total number of viewers of the connected TV;
• and
• in accordance with a determination that the total number of viewers is within a predefined range for a group of viewers, automatically and without user intervention, placing the connected TV into a second operating mode, wherein the second operating mode is associated with second private settings and second control settings, and the second private settings include private information settings and media content settings, including:
• selectively disabling the connected TV from displaying a subset of personal or private information according to the private information settings;
• customizing display of public media content and private media content on the connected TV according to the media content settings;
• and
• controlling the one or more input devices associated with the connected TV according to the second control settings.

A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing one or more programs, the one or more programs comprising instructions, which when executed by a computer system with one or more processors, cause the computer system to:

• operating the connected TV in a first operating mode, including applying first privacy settings associated with the first operating mode on the connected TV and applying first control settings associated with the first operating mode on one or more input devices associated with the connected TV;
• while operating the connected TV in the first operating mode based on the first privacy and control settings, monitoring a total number of viewers of the connected TV;
• and
• in accordance with a determination that the total number of viewers is within a predefined range for a group of viewers, automatically and without user intervention, placing the connected TV into a second operating mode, wherein the second operating mode is associated with second private settings and second control settings, and the second private settings include private information settings and media content settings, including:
• selectively disabling the connected TV from displaying a subset of personal or private information according to the private information settings;
• customizing display of public media content and private media content on the connected TV according to the media content settings;
• and
• controlling the one or more input devices associated with the connected TV according to the second control settings.
