Abstract
A method, apparatus, article of manufacture, and a memory structure for transferring a payout from a first gaming station to a second gaming station by use of biometric data are disclosed. Each gaming station includes a biometric sensor that provides biometric data that is used in the transfer of the payout.
Claims32
A method of transferring a cash out value from a first gaming station of a gaming system to a second gaming station of the gaming system, comprising:
- accepting a cash out command in the first gaming station, the cash out command associated with the cash out value;
- in response to the accepted cash out command:
- sensing a biometric of a player with a first biometric sensor at the first gaming station;
- generating first biometric data from the biometric sensed by the first biometric sensor;
- storing generated the first biometric data in the gaming system for later comparison with second biometric data to be taken at a second gaming station;
- accepting a cash in command at the second gaming station;
- in response to the accepted cash in command:
- sensing the biometric of the same player with a second biometric sensor at the second gaming station, the second gaming station being a different gaming station than the first gaming station;
- generating the second biometric data from the biometric sensed by the second biometric sensor;
- comparing the stored first biometric data with the second biometric data;
- determining from the comparison that the first biometric data and the second biometric data are from the same player;
- crediting the second gaming station at least a portion of the cash out value based at least in part upon the determination that the first biometric data and the second biometric data are from the same player;
- and
- deleting the stored first biometric data from the gaming system after crediting the second gaming station at least a portion of the cash out value.
11 more elements
A gaming system for providing a payout to a player, comprising:
- a first gaming station, having:
- a first biometric sensor, for sensing a biometric of the player;
- a first processor for accepting a cash out command associated with a cash out value and for generating first biometric sensor data from the biometric sensed by the first biometric sensor in response to the accepted cash out command;
- a second gaming station, the second gaming station being a different gaming station than the first gaming station and having:
- a second biometric sensor for sensing the biometric of the same player;
- a second processor, communicatively coupled to the second biometric sensor, for accepting a cash in command and for generating second biometric data from the biometric sensed by the second biometric sensor in response to the accepted cash in command;
- wherein:
- the first biometric data is stored in the gaming system in response to the cash out command for later comparison with second biometric data to be taken at a second gaming station;
- the first biometric data is compared with the second biometric data after the cash in command to determine if the first biometric data and the second biometric data are from the same player;
- the second gaming station credits the second gaming station at least a portion of the cash out value based at least in part upon the comparison of the first biometric data and the second biometric data;
- and
- the stored first biometric data is deleted from the gaming system after crediting the second gaming station with at least a portion of the cash out value.
