Abstract
A source device includes an adaptive link training circuity. The link training circuitry includes source capability information for link training of a link between the source device and a sink device. The source device includes a transmitter coupled to the adaptive link training circuitry to transmit the source capability information to the sink device. The adaptive link training circuitry is to initiate link training between the source device and the sink device, determine whether the link training between the source device and the sink device is unsuccessful, and in response to determining that the link training is unsuccessful, automatically adapt a setting of the link training based on the source capability information.
Claims17
A source device comprising:
- a transmitter to transmit source capability information to a sink device, wherein the source capability information is for link training of a link between the source device and the sink device;
- and
- adaptive link training circuitry coupled to the transmitter, wherein the adaptive link training circuitry is to:
- initiate the link training between the source device and the sink device;
- determine whether the link training between the source device and the sink device is unsuccessful;
- and
- in response to determining that the link training is unsuccessful, automatically adapt, based on the source capability information, a first lane of the link to a first setting and a second lane of the link to a second setting that is different from the first setting.
A system comprising:
- a source device coupled to a sink device via a link, wherein the source device comprises:
- a transmitter coupled to transmit source capability information to the sink device, wherein the source capability information is for link training of the link between the source device and the sink device;
- and
- adaptive link training circuitry coupled to the transmitter, wherein the adaptive link training circuitry is to:
- initiate the link training between the source device and the sink device;
- determine whether the link training between the source device and the sink device is unsuccessful;
- and
- in response to determining that the link training is unsuccessful, automatically adapt, based on the source capability information, a first lane of the link to a first setting and a second lane of the link to a second setting that is different from the first setting.
A method comprising:
- transmitting source capability information of a source device to a sink device;
- initiating link training between the source device and the sink device;
- determining whether the link training between the source device and the sink device is unsuccessful;
- and
- in response to determining that the link training is unsuccessful, automatically adapting, based on the source capability information, a first lane of the link to a first setting and a second lane of the link to a second setting that is different than the first setting.
