Abstract
Methods and apparatus to identify additively manufactured parts are disclosed. An example method of manufacturing includes layering a first set of layers of a first material via an additive manufacturing technique, the first material having a first density and layering a second set of layers of the first material via the additive manufacturing technique, the second set of layers to form a void embedded internally in the part, the void forming an indicium.
Claims19
A method of manufacturing a part, comprising:
- layering a first set of layers of a first material via an additive manufacturing technique, the first material having a first density;
- and
- layering a second set of layers of the first material via the additive manufacturing technique, the second set of layers to form a void embedded internally in the part, the void forming a first indicium, wherein the first indicium aligns with a second indicium on an external surface of the part.
A method of manufacturing a part, comprising:
- layering a first set of layers of a first material via an additive manufacturing technique, the first material having a first density, wherein the additive manufacturing technique is a binder jetting technique;
- layering a second set of layers of the first material via the additive manufacturing technique, the second set of layers to form a void embedded internally in the part, the void forming an indicium;
- and
- filling the void with a second material, the second material having a second density different than the first density, wherein the second material is a powder material, wherein the powder material is not completely fused, wherein the first material is fused with a first adhesive and the second material is not completely fused with a second adhesive.
