Abstract
The invention provides a composition comprising the following components: A) an anhydride and/or carboxylic acid functionalized ethylene/alpha-olefin interpolymer comprising the following properties: i) a melt viscosity (177° C.) less than, or equal to, 50,000 cP; and ii) a density from 0.855 to 0.895 g/cc; B) a rosin-based tackifier; and wherein the tackifier is selected from the following: i) a partially hydrogenated glycerol ester; ii) a fully hydrogenated pentaerythritol ester; iii) a fully hydrogenated glycerol ester; iv) a non-hydrogenated ester with a Tg from 30° C. to 50° C.; or v) a combination thereof.
Claims9
A composition comprising the following components:
- A) a maleic anhydride functionalized ethylene/octene copolymer comprising the following properties:
- i) a melt viscosity (at 177° C.) less than, or equal to, 50,000 cP;
- and
- ii) a density from 0.855 to 0.895 g/cc;
- iii) a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) greater than, or equal to, 2.5;
- B) a rosin-based tackifier selected from the group consisting of a fully hydrogenated pentaerythritol ester, a fully hydrogenated glycerol ester, and combinations thereof;
- C) an ethylene/octene copolymer having
- (i) a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) less than, or equal to, 2.3,
- (ii) a melt viscosity (at 177° C.) from 5,000 cP to 40,000 cP;
- wherein the weight ratio of component A to component C is 4:1 and the weight ratio of components A and C to component B is 1:1;
- and
- the composition is transparent.
