## Abstract

A smart micro-mouse trap is disclosed herein which can be used to trap and kill the mouse, rat, rodent, etc. instantly. The embodiment comprises an enclosure for the mouse, a beam to detect the mouse, a trap, a latch and a solenoid powered by an electrical circuit to activate the tripping mechanism as the mouse enters the trap and breaks the beam. The smart micro-mouse trap is advantageous and useful as it is inexpensive, easy to operate, durable and allows for sanitary disposal of the dead mice, rats, rodents without contact to human.

## Claims

### Claim 1

An electro-mechanical rodent trap comprising:
a) an enclosure having a first wall, a second wall, a third wall and a floor wherein the floor and walls are connected together, and an animal access opening is positioned between and formed by the first wall and the third wall, wherein the animal access opening is positioned opposite the second wall;
b) an electronic eye system mounted to the enclosure configured to generate a beam across the animal access opening;
c) a trap having a spring-loaded arm positioned within the enclosure which may be loaded and unloaded;
d) a solenoid powered by an electrical circuit board mounted to the enclosure, the solenoid electrically coupled to the electronic eye system and mechanically coupled with the spring-loaded arm of the trap, and
e) a latch mount positioned on the second wall opposite the animal access opening.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The electro-mechanical rodent trap according to claim 1 wherein the floor is perpendicular to the walls of the enclosure.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The electro-mechanical rodent trap according to claim 1 wherein the latch mount is further positioned on the floor.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The electro-mechanical rodent trap according to claim 1 wherein a mirror is positioned on the floor within the enclosure.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The electro-mechanical rodent trap according to claim 1 wherein a mirror is positioned on the second wall opposite the animal access opening.

### Claim 6 (depends on 3)

The electro-mechanical rodent trap according to claim 3 wherein the latch mount is signaled by the electronic eye system and the solenoid to release the spring-loaded arm from a loaded position to a released position.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The electro-mechanical rodent trap according to claim 1 wherein the electrical circuit board is powered by a power source and is positioned proximate the electro-mechanical rodent trap.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The electro-mechanical rodent trap according to claim 1 wherein a ceiling is removable and positioned on the enclosure.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The electro-mechanical rodent trap according to claim 1 wherein a quantity of bait is positioned within the enclosure proximate to the animal access opening.

### Claim 10

An electro-mechanical rodent trap comprising:
a) an enclosure having a first wall, a second wall, a third wall and a floor wherein the floor and walls are connected together, and an animal access opening is positioned between the first wall and the third wall, wherein the first wall and the third wall are parallel and the second wall is opposite the animal access opening;
b) an electronic eye system mounted to the enclosure configured to generate a beam across the animal access opening, the beam configured as a detector device to detect the entrance of a rodent, the electronic eye system generating the beam when activated;
c) a trap having a spring-loaded arm positioned within the enclosure, the spring-loaded arm is swingable from a loaded position to a release position;
d) a solenoid powered by an electrical circuit board mounted outside the enclosure, the solenoid coupled with the electronic eye system and mechanically coupled with the spring-loaded arm of the trap;
e) a latch mount positioned on the second wall; and
f) wherein upon the rodent breaking the beam, the spring-loaded arm is released by the solenoid to contact the rodent and pin the rodent to the floor.

### Claim 11 (depends on 10)

The electro-mechanical rodent trap according to claim 10 wherein the latch mount further configures with a latch to hold the spring-loaded arm in the loaded position when there is no rodent within the enclosure.

### Claim 12 (depends on 11)

The electro-mechanical rodent trap according to claim 11 wherein the latch and the latch mount are signaled by the electronic eye system and the solenoid to release the spring-loaded arm from the loaded position to the released position to pin the rodent to the floor.

### Claim 13 (depends on 10)

The electro-mechanical rodent trap according to claim 10 wherein the electrical circuit board is powered by a power source and is positioned proximate the electro-mechanical rodent trap.

### Claim 14 (depends on 10)

The electro-mechanical rodent trap according to claim 10 wherein a ceiling is removable and positioned on the enclosure.

### Claim 15 (depends on 10)

The electro-mechanical rodent trap according to claim 10 wherein a quantity of bait is positioned within the enclosure proximate to the animal access opening.

### Claim 16 (depends on 10)

The electro-mechanical rodent trap according to claim 10 wherein a handle is positioned on the exterior of the wall of the enclosure.

### Claim 17 (depends on 10)

The electro-mechanical rodent trap according to claim 10 wherein an indication light is positioned on the exterior of the wall of the enclosure.

### Claim 18 (depends on 10)

The electro-mechanical rodent trap according to claim 10 wherein a mirror is positioned at the wall within the enclosure.
