Abstract
The present disclosure relates to a pre-5th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates beyond 4th-Generation (4G) communication systems such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). According to various embodiments of the present disclosure, a method for operating an access point (AP) in a cluster of a plurality of APs in a wireless communication system comprises determining a state of the cluster, determining a flow path based on the state of the cluster, and controlling to route data through the flow path from a core network (CN) to a terminal.
Claims18
A method for operating an access point (AP) in a cluster of a plurality of APs in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
- determining a flow path between a core network (CN) and a terminal in response to a link failure of a link between a first AP and the terminal;
- and
- controlling to route data through the flow path,
- wherein the flow path is determined based on a quality of an interface between the first AP and a second AP, and an association of the first AP with a gateway to the CN,
- wherein the flow path comprises a first flow path from the first AP, via the second AP, to the terminal or a second flow path from the AP, via the second AP, to the terminal, and
- wherein the second AP is configured to serve the terminal based on the flow path after the link failure.
An apparatus of an access point (AP) in a cluster of a plurality of APs in a wireless communication system, the apparatus comprising:
- at least one processor configured to:
- determine a flow path between a core network (CN) and a terminal in response to a link failure of a link between a first AP and the terminal, and
- control to route data through the flow path,
- wherein the flow path is determined based on a quality of an interface between the first AP and a second AP, and an association of the first AP with a gateway to the CN,
- wherein the flow path comprises a first flow path from the first AP, via the second AP, to the terminal or a second flow path from the AP, via the second AP, to the terminal, and
- wherein the second AP is configured to serve the terminal based on the flow path after the link failure.
