Earbud stability anchor feature

An earbud, comprising:

• an elastomeric element having opposing first and second sides, a first opening formed in the first side, a second opening formed in the second side and a channel extending from the first opening to the second opening;
• a housing, comprising a central portion and first and second portions on opposing sides of and extending from the central portion, wherein the central portion is disposed within the channel, the first portion protrudes out of the first opening at an angle of between 100 and 145 degrees relative to the first side and the second portion protrudes out of the second opening at an angle of between 100 and 145 degrees relative to the second side;
• an audio exit opening at an exterior surface of the first portion;
• an audio driver disposed within the housing and aligned with the audio exit opening;
• and
• an audio channel having a linear geometry extending from the audio exit opening to the audio driver;
• wherein the opening defined by the elastomeric element has a tapered geometry that limits removal of the housing from the elastomeric element to one direction.

An earbud, comprising:

• an anchoring feature defining a channel extending from a first end of the anchoring feature to a second end opposite the first end;
• an earbud housing comprising a central section disposed between opposing first and second ends of the earbud housing, the central section being disposed within the channel and the first and second ends being disposed outside the channel proximate the first and second ends of the anchoring feature respectively, the first end of the earbud housing protruding from the anchoring feature at an angle of between 100 and 145 degrees with respect to an outer surface of the first end of the anchoring feature;
• and
• an audio driver disposed within the earbud housing and aligned with an audio exit opening defined by the first end of the earbud housing.
