Apparatus and method for providing programming information for media content to a wearable device

A machine-readable storage medium, comprising executable instructions that, when executed by a processing system including a processor, facilitate performance of operations, comprising:

• detecting a first smart watch and a second smart watch in proximity of a display device, wherein each of the first smart watch and the second smart watch is configured to wrap around a wrist of a person;
• identifying a first user profile associated with the first smart watch and a second user profile associated with the second smart watch;
• receiving a first user input from the first smart watch indicating to present a first selected media content and receiving a second user input from the second smart watch indicating to present a second selected media content;
• causing a presentation of the first selected media content at the display device and storing of the second selected media content in a digital video recorder in response to a determination of the first user profile having a higher priority than the second user profile, wherein the first user profile is associated with the first smart watch and the second user profile is associated with the second smart watch;
• detecting the first smart watch is in motion;
• and
• causing a presentation of a second action that causes presenting the second selected media content at the display device and storing the first selected media content in the digital video recorder in response to detecting that the first smart watch is in motion and the second smart watch is stationary.

A method, comprising:

• detecting, by a processing system including a processor, a first smart watch and a second smart watch in proximity of a display device, wherein each of the first smart watch and the second smart watch is configured to wrap around a wrist of a person;
• generating, by the processing system, a first filtered electronic programming guide to be presented on the first smart watch and generating a second filtered electronic programming guide to be presented on the second smart watch;
• receiving, by the processing system, a first user input from the first smart watch indicating to present a first selected media content and receiving a second user input from the second smart watch indicating to present a second selected media content;
• causing, by the processing system, a presentation of the first selected media content at the display device and storing of the second selected media content in a digital video recorder in response to a determination of a first user profile having a higher priority than a second user profile, wherein the first user profile is associated with the first smart watch and the second user profile is associated with the second smart watch;
• detecting, by the processing system, the first smart watch is in motion;
• and
• causing, by the processing system, a presentation of a second action that causes presenting the second selected media content at the display device and storing the first selected media content in the digital video recorder in response to detecting that the first smart watch is in motion and the second smart watch is stationary.
