Abstract
This disclosure relates to new crystalline microporous solids (including silicate- and aluminosilicate-based solids), the compositions comprising 8 and 10 membered inorganic rings, particularly those having RTH topologies having a range of Si:Al ratios, methods of preparing these and known crystalline microporous solids using certain quaternized imidazolium cation structuring agents.
Claims21
A process for preparing a crystalline microporous solid of RTH topology, the process comprising hydrothermally treating a composition comprising:
- (a) (i) at least one source of silicon oxide and
- (ii) at least one source of aluminum oxide, boron oxide, gallium oxide, hafnium oxide, iron oxide, tin oxide, titanium oxide, indium oxide, vanadium oxide, zirconium oxide, or combination or mixture thereof
- in the presence of an organic complex comprising
- (b) an imidazolium cation comprising methyl and ethyl groups and having a C/N+ ratio in a range of from 6:1 to 10:1;
- and
- (c) an associated hydroxide or fluoride anion;
- under conditions effective to crystallize the crystalline microporous solid of RTH topology.
