Systems, devices, and/or methods for managing storm water

A water management system configured to manage water received upon a raised pedestal paver system, the raised pedestal paver system comprising an array of elongated pedestals that each define a longitudinal axis and one or more substantially circular axial cross-sections, the raised pedestal paver system further comprising a substantially planar array of pavers, each pedestal from the array of elongate pedestals configured to partially vertically support at least two substantially adjacent pavers from the array of pavers, the water management system comprising:

• at least two retentive layers configured to absorb at least a portion of the water;
• at least two drainage layers configured to allow the water to drain out of the retentive layers and to encourage airflow under the retentive layers;
• wherein:
• the retentive layers are formed from an array of retentive panels, each retentive panel from the array of retentive panels substantially abutting at least
• two other retentive panels from the array of retentive panels;
• the drainage layers are formed from a plurality of drainage panels, each drainage panel from the array of drainage panels substantially abutting at least two other drainage panels from the array of drainage panels;
• gaps formed between substantially adjacent retentive panels from the array of retentive panels are configured to be horizontally offset from corresponding gaps formed between overhead pairs of substantially adjacent pavers from the array of pavers such that when viewed from above or below, the seams of the assembly of panels do not line up with the seams of the raised pavers;
• when viewed from above or below, each panel defines a notched square shape.
