Abstract
Methods and compositions comprising an emulsion or a microemulsion for use treating an oil and/or gas well are provided. In some embodiments, the emulsion or the microemulsion comprises an aqueous phase, a solvent, a surfactant comprising alkyl polyglycoside, an alcohol, and, optionally, one or more additives.
Claims8
A composition for use in an oil and/or gas well having a wellbore, comprising a fluid and a microemulsion, wherein the microemulsion comprises:
- an aqueous phase;
- a surfactant comprising alkyl polyglycoside;
- a first solvent selected from the group consisting of terpene, alkyl aliphatic carboxylic acid ester, and combinations thereof, wherein the first solvent is present in an amount between about 1 wt % and about 20 wt % versus the microemulsion;
- and
- an alcohol selected from the group consisting of butanol, amyl alcohol, and combinations thereof.
A composition, for use in an oil and/or gas well having a wellbore, comprising a fluid and a microemulsion, wherein the microemulsion comprises:
- an aqueous phase;
- a surfactant comprising alkyl polyglycoside;
- a first solvent comprising d-limonene;
- a second solvent comprising methyl aliphatic carboxylic acid ester;
- wherein the d-limonene is present in a ratio to the methyl aliphatic carboxylic acid ester of from about 1:0.01 to about 0.5:1 by weight;
- and
- an alcohol selected from the group consisting of butanol, amyl alcohol, and combinations thereof.
A composition for use in an oil and/or gas well having a wellbore, comprising a fluid and a microemulsion, wherein the microemulsion comprises:
- an aqueous phase;
- a surfactant comprising alkyl polyglycoside;
- a first solvent selected from the group consisting of terpene, alkyl aliphatic carboxylic acid ester, and combinations thereof;
- an alcohol selected from the group consisting of butanol, amyl alcohol, and combinations thereof;
- and
- a demulsifier.
