Bicycle helmet fit system

A helmet comprising:

• a main body having a concave interior for receiving a user's head;
• a head strap coupled to the body, the head strap forming a continuous loop having a tensioned portion, wherein within the tensioned portion, a first flexible belt overlaps a second flexible belt at a front of the main body;
• and
• an adjustment mechanism coupled to an end of the head strap, wherein the adjustment mechanism is disposed directly opposite the front of the main body such that the head strap extends halfway around the concave interior from the end of the head strap to the front of the main body when tracing the loop in a single direction along the loop, wherein the head strap includes an occipital pad positioned between the first flexible belt and the second flexible belt, wherein the first flexible belt includes a first end directly coupled to the adjustment mechanism and a second, opposite end directly coupled to a first end of the occipital pad, wherein the first end of the first flexible belt is the end of the head strap, and wherein the second flexible belt includes a first end directly coupled to the adjustment mechanism and a second, opposite end directly coupled to a second, opposite end of the occipital pad, the loop extending directly from the first end of the first flexible belt at the adjustment mechanism, continuing along the first flexible belt and around the front of the main body, to the second end of the first flexible belt at the first end of the occipital pad, continuing from the first end of the occipital pad to the second end of the occipital pad at the second end of the second flexible belt, continuing along the second flexible belt and around the front of the main body to the first end of the second flexible belt at the adjustment mechanism.

A helmet comprising:

• a main body having a concave interior for receiving a user's head, the main body having a front and a rear;
• an adjustment mechanism disposed at the rear of the main body;
• and
• a head strap coupled to the adjustment mechanism, wherein the head strap forms a loop within the concave interior that extends entirely around the concave interior, wherein the head strap includes a first flexible belt, a second flexible belt, and an occipital pad positioned between the first flexible belt and the second flexible belt, wherein the first flexible belt includes a first end directly coupled to the adjustment mechanism and a second, opposite end directly coupled to a first end of the occipital pad, wherein the second flexible belt includes a first end directly coupled to the adjustment mechanism and a second, opposite end directly coupled to a second, opposite end of the occipital pad, and wherein the occipital pad passes in front of the adjustment mechanism in an area that is closer to the adjustment mechanism than to the front of the main body;
• wherein the loop extends directly from the first end of the first flexible belt at the adjustment mechanism, continuing along the first flexible belt and around the front of the main body, to the second end of the first flexible belt at the first end of the occipital pad, continuing from the first end of the occipital pad to the second end of the occipital pad at the second end of the second flexible belt, continuing along the second flexible belt and around the front of the main body to the first end of the second flexible belt at the adjustment mechanism.
